Adolescent, Family & Adult Clinical Counsellor

Shelly Kalinko

Shelly works with adolescents, families, and adults moving through difficult times - including trauma, anxiety, grief, and periods of feeling overwhelmed. She offers a warm, steady presence and works at a pace that suits each person, helping clients feel more settled, understood, and connected to themselves.

Shelly is trained in EMDR, a therapy that helps the brain and body process difficult or distressing experiences.

She draws on this alongside a range of other approaches:

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) — working with the patterns in our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
  • Parts work (Internal Family Systems) - making sense of the different 'parts' of ourselves that show up in different moments.
  • Somatic approaches — gently involving the body's responses to stress.
  • Positive psychology — building on strengths, resilience, and what helps us thriveHer work is shaped by an understanding of how early relationships and past experiences influence the way we feel and connect today.

Drawing on years of experience across schools, youth programs, and private practice, Shelly brings warmth, depth, and a real respect for the complexity of each person's story.
